What to Expect
on Your First Visit

Your first appointment is approximately one hour. It gives us the opportunity to thoroughly understand your dental history, identify any concerns, and create a personalized treatment plan.

  1. Digital X-rays are taken to examine your jaw structure, teeth positioning, and any signs of decay.
  2. A comprehensive oral examination is performed by your dentist, including an oral cancer screening.
  3. A professional cleaning removes plaque and tartar build-up, and your hygienist provides personalized oral hygiene instructions.
  4. Your dentist reviews findings, discusses any dental concerns, and presents a proposed treatment plan.
Your Safety

Infection Control
Standards

Infection prevention and control standards are important in maintaining a safe environment for patients by reducing the risk of the potential spread of disease from person to person.

Sterilization

All heat-stable dental instruments undergo steam sterilization (autoclaving) and dry heat processing after each patient. Load testing is performed regularly to verify sterilization effectiveness. Sterilization kills all forms of life, including infectious organisms.

Personal Protection

Fresh gloves and masks are used for every patient. Hands are washed between every patient. Pre-sterilization cleaning uses enzymatic or non-enzymatic methods before instruments are autoclaved.

Surface Disinfection

Treatment areas are cleaned and disinfected after every patient. Disposable protective covers are replaced between patients. Gloves, masks, needles, syringes, and instrument tray covers are discarded after single use.
