Improve your smile and boost your confidence — every smile deserves to look its best.

The goal of cosmetic dentistry is to improve the appearance of your teeth and smile. Your teeth naturally darken over time due to coffee, tea, soda, childhood medications, tobacco use, or improper oral hygiene. Restoring your natural white smile is a priority for our team.

Teeth Whitening

Tooth whitening is one of the most requested services at our practice. We use industry-approved professional methods, including a gentle hydrogen-peroxide gel-activated solution that can whiten your entire smile in a single visit. Over-the-counter alternatives simply don't deliver lasting results.

Smile Makeovers

A variety of dental procedures — including veneers, bonding, and contouring — can help you achieve a beautiful, lasting smile. Every treatment plan is customized to your individual needs and goals. Call us today for a whitening evaluation or smile consultation.

Cosmetic Dentistry – Before and After

A modern approach to straighter teeth — no wires, no brackets, no compromise.

Invisalign® straightens your teeth using a series of clear, customized, removable aligners. They're virtually undetectable — hardly anyone will know you're straightening your teeth. Fenworth Dental is a Certified Invisalign Provider in Hamilton, Ontario.

How It Works

The Invisalign System combines advanced 3D computer imaging with orthodontic science. Each aligner is precisely calibrated to move your teeth in small, controlled steps toward their desired position. Treatment may require as few as 12 or as many as 48 aligners, each worn for about two weeks and removed only to eat, brush, and floss.

Is Invisalign Right for You?

Only a certified provider trained by Align Technology can determine if Invisalign is appropriate. Invisalign is not intended for children and is not suitable for every adult. Contact us to book a free consultation.

Invisalign Clear Aligners

Traditional and modern solutions for straighter teeth at any age.

At Fenworth Dental, Dr. Gureckas provides full orthodontic services — including braces — at a general practitioner fee schedule, making orthodontic care more accessible to our patients.

How Braces Work

Braces are attached directly to the crowns of the teeth, exerting gentle stress along the tooth roots and periodontal ligaments. This stimulates specialized cells to gradually dissolve and rebuild bone in the tooth socket, moving teeth into their desired position over time.

Types of Braces Available

  • Full and partial traditional braces
  • Ceramic braces (tooth-coloured, discreet appearance)
  • Lingual braces (placed behind the teeth)
  • Clear aligner therapy (Invisalign®)

The foundation of a healthy smile starts with regular, consistent care.

Preventive dentistry is the cornerstone of our practice. Regular professional cleanings and check-ups — ideally every six months — are the most effective way to catch problems early, maintain healthy teeth and gums, and avoid costly treatments down the road.

What's Included in a Visit

  • Professional scaling and cleaning to remove tartar and plaque
  • Comprehensive oral examination
  • Digital X-rays as needed
  • Oral cancer screening
  • Personalized home-care recommendations

Why Regular Check-ups Matter

Even with excellent at-home care, plaque and tartar accumulate in areas brushing and flossing can't fully reach. Professional cleanings remove this build-up and give your dental team the opportunity to spot any early signs of concern before they become bigger problems.

Early detection is key. A quick, painless check-up can make all the difference.

Oral cancer occurs when cells in the mouth — including the tongue, lips, cheeks, and throat — grow abnormally. When detected early, oral cancer can be effectively treated. We encourage all patients to schedule regular screenings, especially those at higher risk.

Risk Factors

  • Smoking or using tobacco products
  • Heavy alcohol consumption
  • Frequent sun exposure
  • HPV (Human Papillomavirus)
  • Being male and over the age of 40

Warning Signs

  • Swelling, lumps, or thick patches in the mouth or throat
  • White or red lesions in the mouth
  • Pain or numbness anywhere in the mouth
  • Sore throat or difficulty swallowing
  • Persistent hoarseness in the throat

The Screening Process

Your health history is reviewed, then a dental professional closely examines your gums, cheeks, tongue, throat, and surrounding tissues. A device such as the VELscope® may also be used. Most patients find it quick and completely painless.

Targeted, science-based treatment for gum disease and persistent bad breath.

Fenworth Dental is an Oravital® Certified Clinic. The Oravital® System is a science-based treatment program designed to combat harmful oral bacteria that cause gum disease and bad breath (halitosis).

How the Oravital® System Works

A hygienist conducts an oral exam and reviews your medical history. Gentle swab samples are taken from the tongue, teeth, and throat and sent to a lab for microbial analysis. If harmful bacteria are detected, a specially designed antiseptic or antibiotic rinse is prescribed for approximately two weeks to restore balance to your oral environment.

Ongoing Maintenance

A follow-up visit evaluates progress. Patients are encouraged to maintain daily oral care and continue professional cleanings. The Oravital® maintenance rinse helps reduce recurrence, and annual microbial testing is recommended for long-term health.

Oravital® System

Repairing and rebuilding teeth to restore function, health, and appearance.

Restorative dentistry focuses on diagnosing and treating dental problems that affect the structure, function, and health of your teeth. Whether you have a cavity, a cracked tooth, or a missing filling, our team can help restore your smile.

Fillings

Tooth-coloured composite fillings repair cavities and minor fractures while blending seamlessly with your natural teeth. Unlike older amalgam fillings, composite restorations are discreet and bond directly to the tooth structure.

Crowns

A dental crown fully covers a damaged or weakened tooth to protect it and restore its shape, size, and strength. Crowns are also placed following root canal treatment or to anchor dental bridges.

Bridges

A dental bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by anchoring an artificial tooth to crowns on adjacent natural teeth, restoring your bite and preventing remaining teeth from shifting.

Root canal therapy to protect your teeth from the inside out.

Endodontics (root canal therapy) is performed when the inner wall of a tooth has become infected or damaged — due to a crack, internal decay, or a failing crown. In some cases the outside of the tooth looks healthy while damage occurs internally.

Root Canal Treatment

Root canal treatment removes the tooth's pulp — the small, thread-like tissue in the center of the tooth. Once the damaged or dead pulp is removed, the remaining space is carefully cleaned, shaped, and sealed, protecting the tooth from further damage and preventing the spread of infection.

Why It Matters

Years ago, a tooth with a diseased pulp would simply be extracted. Today, root canal therapy saves countless teeth that would otherwise be lost, preserving your natural smile for years to come.

Restoring and replacing missing teeth with custom, comfortable solutions.

Prosthodontics focuses on the restoration and replacement of missing or damaged teeth. Our denturist Umesh Prabhu works with patients to provide partial or complete dentures that restore both function and aesthetics.

Partial & Complete Dentures

A full or partial denture fills and strengthens sections of the mouth where teeth have been removed. Whether you need a partial replacement or a full set, our dental care provider will determine the best option based on the overall condition of your teeth, gums, and jaw bone.

Crowns & Bridges

Fixed prosthodontic restorations include crowns (caps that cover a damaged tooth) and bridges (fixed replacements anchored to neighbouring teeth), restoring your bite and your confidence.

Prosthodontics – Dentures and Crowns

The gold standard for permanent, natural-looking tooth replacement.

Dental implants are the most natural-looking and longest-lasting solution for replacing missing teeth. Unlike dentures or bridges, implants are anchored directly into the jawbone — functioning just like natural tooth roots and supporting a crown, bridge, or full arch of replacement teeth.

How Dental Implants Work

A small titanium post is surgically placed into the jawbone where the tooth root once was. Over several months, the implant fuses with the bone through osseointegration, creating a stable, permanent anchor. A custom-crafted crown is then attached to complete your new tooth.

Benefits of Implants

  • Look, feel, and function like natural teeth
  • Preserve jawbone and prevent bone loss
  • Do not affect adjacent healthy teeth (unlike bridges)
  • Long-lasting — with proper care, implants can last a lifetime
  • Restore confidence in eating, speaking, and smiling

Are You a Candidate?

Most adults in good general and oral health are candidates for dental implants. Key factors include sufficient bone density and healthy gums. Our team will conduct a thorough evaluation to determine whether implants are right for you.

Gum disease affects many adults — we can help prevent and treat it at every stage.

Periodontal simply means "the tissue around the teeth." Periodontists specialize in the treatment of this area, which is commonly affected by gum disease. Plaque is the most frequent cause, and problems are often discovered only after they have persisted for an extended time.

Stages of Gum Disease

  • Mild — Gingivitis: red, swollen gums that bleed easily
  • Moderate — Early Periodontitis: gum recession and early bone loss
  • Severe — Advanced Periodontitis: significant bone damage and tooth loss risk

Common Warning Signs

  • "Long" teeth caused by receding gum lines exposing the root
  • Discolored or deteriorating tooth structure
  • Gum depressions between teeth
  • Inflamed or infected gum tissue
  • Tooth loss or unwanted tooth movement

Treatments are available for every stage of gum disease. Regular professional check-ups significantly reduce your risk.

Custom-fitted protection for your teeth — day, night, or on the field.

Dental guards are custom-fitted appliances that protect your teeth from damage caused by grinding (bruxism), clenching, or physical impact during sports. Our professional guards are precisely moulded to your teeth for optimal fit, comfort, and protection.

Night Guards (for Bruxism)

Teeth grinding often occurs during sleep and can cause significant enamel wear, jaw pain, headaches, and cracked teeth. A custom night guard creates a protective barrier between your upper and lower teeth, absorbing the force of grinding while you sleep.

Sports Guards

A custom sports guard is one of the best investments you can make for your oral health. It protects your teeth, gums, and jaw — and can help reduce concussion risk. We make sports guards for patients of all ages, from young athletes to adults in competitive sports.

Custom oral appliances for a quieter, more restful night's sleep.

Snoring affects not only your sleep quality but also your partner's — and in some cases it may indicate obstructive sleep apnea. Our SnoreNoMore program provides custom-fitted oral appliances designed to reduce or eliminate snoring.

How It Works

Custom oral appliances worn during sleep work by gently repositioning the lower jaw slightly forward, opening the airway and reducing the vibration of soft tissues that causes snoring. Unlike over-the-counter devices, our appliances are precisely fitted to your teeth for maximum comfort and effectiveness.

Sleep Apnea Considerations

If you suspect obstructive sleep apnea — characterized by snoring, gasping, or pauses in breathing during sleep — please let us know. We work alongside sleep medicine specialists to ensure appropriate care. An oral appliance can be a highly effective alternative to CPAP therapy for mild to moderate sleep apnea.
